新苑藝術將於2018年6月22日至7月27日,隆重推出游克文個展《築畫》,開幕酒會訂於6月22日(週五)傍晚六點。長年於巴黎創作發展的台灣藝術家游克文,睽違六年再次於台灣舉辦個展。游克文屢屢突破藝術創作的侷限性,長期關注幾何/非幾何、平面/立體、形式/色彩等形式的探索,自單色畫望向低限主義(Minimalism),延續板面的重疊與並置,內化過去的藝術精神,藉形式與媒材的純粹深入物自體與空間的脈動,將空間導入創作而成為其藝術載體之一。
築畫,「顧名思義畫是蓋出來的,取名重點在於它的建築式手法。」,此次個展,游克文將切割式的媒體,以其所要的形式,進而透過重組構成,導入真實空間的一部分,轉化為新的個體。於是,「建築物也是我的媒體。」,近似於情境存有學的方式將作品置入空間,同時帶入了藝術家對場域的直觀感受,形塑出整合協調的整體關係。游克文自過去畫架繪畫系統出走,再到橫向延伸以拋棄繪畫影像的框架,而《築畫》在當代視覺語彙中,進一步消弭了平面、立體、雕塑的界線,以面為立基,透過點與線的重構,既保留藝術的本真、物自體的知性,亦呈現出身體在空間的可展延性。
游克文,現居法國。自1988年陸續於巴黎、台灣兩地展出,巴黎展出如:ESEC空間、Lelia Mordoch 畫廊、巴黎文化中心(Centre Culturel et d'informaion de Taipei à Paris、Centre Culturel Chinois)等機構,以及1989年於巴黎洗衣坊藝術中心(Espace Bateau Lavoir)舉行個展。展覽城市包括比利時布魯塞爾、荷蘭、法國尼斯、巴黎大皇宮、以色列的阿什杜德 MonArt藝術中心(Musee Monart d'Ashdod)、台北市立美術館、關渡美術館等藝術機構。

Galerie Grand Siècle is going to present artist Cheng Feng Kevin YU’s solo exhibition Building the painting during June 22th to July 27th, 2018. The opening will be held at 6 pm on June 22th, Friday. Taiwanese artist Cheng Feng Kevin YU, who has been working in Paris for many years, will hold a solo exhibition in Taiwan after six years. He always breaks through the limitations of artistic creation and focusing on the exploration of geometric/non-geometric, planar/stereoscopic, and forms/colors. Looking from the monochrome to Minimalism, continuing the overlap or juxtapose the plates, internalizing the artistic spirit of the past, he exploring the pulsation between thing-it-self and space through the pure of forms and media. That is, he started to make space became one of the media of his art.
Building the painting, “As its name, the exhibition focuses on the artist's architectural working process.” In this solo exhibition, Cheng Feng Kevin YU cut panels to the desired form to restructure it while import part of the building into new individuals. Therefore, “The building also becomes my medium.” He installs the work base on the idea similar to the scenario ontology while brings his own intuitive experience from the field and shapes a harmonious relationship. He left the traditional easel painting system and abandoned the frame of the image through the horizontal extension. In the vocabulary of contemporary art, Building the painting further eliminates the boundary between the plane, the three-dimensional, and the sculpture. It takes the surface as the foundation while connecting with the points and the lines to preserves the nature of the art, the intellectuality of thing-it-self, and also shows the extensibility of the body in space.
Cheng Feng Kevin YU lives in France. Since 1988, his exhibition has exhibited in Paris and Taiwan. Exhibition in Paris such as E.S.E.C, Lelia Mordoch, Centre Culturel et d'informaion de Taipei à Paris, Centre Culturel Chinois, and held a solo exhibition in Espace Bateau Lavoir, 1989. Also include Brussels (Belgium), Nederland, Nice (France), Grand Palais (France), Musee Monart d'Ashdod (Israel), Taipei Fine Art Museum (Taipei), Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts (Taipei) etc.

築畫, 顧名思義畫是蓋出來的,取名重點在於它的建築式手法。
多年來我不再使用畫架繪畫的系統,而是運用切割式的媒體,我將板面(卡紙、木板。。)切割出所要的形式、上色或不上色,將它們多塊重 疊、並置、折疊或用缐來連結構成,它們可以是獨立的個體。
但近年來我更喜歡將它們導入真實的空間,將作品與室內的牆壁、角落結合,也就是說建築物也是我的媒體。
The name of the exhibition "Building the painting" stems from the Artist's point of view that painting is constructing. As its name, the exhibition focuses on the artist's architectural working process.
Over the years, I abandoned the easel painting system. I cut panels (cardboard, wood boards, etc.) to the desired form, paint or leave them natural, and then juxtapose, superimpose, fold or use strings to connect them. These object-paintings can live independently.
However, in the recent years, I have introduced them into the real space, integrating my works into the walls or the corners of an interior. Therefore, the building also becomes my medium.
